About Kirkby Community Centre

The Kirkby Community Centre lies at the heart of the small village of Kirkby-in-Furness in South Lakeland, framed by a stunning backdrop including moorland, the Lake District fells, and the Duddon Estuary. This recently extended and refurbished centre provides a valued community hub and recreational asset, nestled in a five-acre site.

The newly refurbished building includes a large function room, changing facilities and public toilets. The centre has been developed to a high environmental standard, with improved insulation, double glazing and heating systems supporting our contribution to the clean growth agenda. The centre is also fully disabled access compliant. Free car parking is available on-site and the centre is within walking distance of Kirkby-in-Furness railway station.

The recreational area includes a children’s playground, cricket and football pitches, a crown bowling green, and a Multi-Use Games Area with tennis courts, netball courts, basketball courts and a five-a-side football pitch. The centre is home to four sports clubs including cricket, football, crown green bowls and tennis. Visiting fell runners use the centre as part of the British Open Fell Runners Association (BOFRA) national circuit.

The Community Centre is available for hire. Please visit our Centre Hire Page for further information.
